Client
Someone you’re doing the project for. This can be internal stakeholders, departments or external clients.

Milestone
A milestone is a date during the project where a specific and significant event occurs. This can be a release date, stage gate, delivery or hand-over date etc. A project will always have at least one milestone and that is the project end date. In agile projects a milestone an also be used to define dates for releases. Releases typically happen when one or more sprints has resulted in the product having enough value to outweigh the cost to deploy it.

Project
A temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service or result. A project is temporary in that it has a defined beginning and end in time, and therefore defined scope and resources.

Project status
A project stage defines where the project is in it’s life-cycle and can be set from the project settings.
The possible stages are pre-defined as the following:
 - Planning
 - Running
 - Halted
 - Done

Sprint
An iteration (cycle) of work during which one or more pieces of product functionality is implemented. Typically 2-4 weeks.

Sprint planning
The Sprint planning meeting is a negotiation between the team and the product owner about what the team will do during the next sprint.

Scope
The scope (or "product backlog") is the requirements for a system, expressed as a prioritized list of product backlog items. These include both functional and non-functional customer requirements, as well as technical team-generated requirements.

Card
A card is simply a task, also known as a user story. One card is one task.

Subtasks
A subtask is an additional step inside of a card. In other words, a todo-list for a card. This functionality is optional, and can be activated / deactivated per project basis in the project settings.

User
A user is a person who is able to login to Forecast.

Project manager
The project manager is the manager of a specific project.

Team member
A team member is a member of the organization, and / or a member of a project.

Time report
Registration of time is done in the 'Time'-section, and is registered directly on each card.

Remaining time
The remaining time of a project or card (i.e. task) is the estimated time remaining based on the forecast setup, supported by our machine-learning technologies.

Upcoming work
This is your personal view of what's up front for you. It includes all of your tasks, sorted by overdue, this week, next week and future. Consider this your personal dashboard at work. Navigate to it at anytime by clicking the Forecast logo.

Velocity
The project velocity is an analysis of the current speed at which the project actually progresses compared to the estimates setup. A velocity of 1.00 or 100% means that it is going according to the plan. Below 1 means it's going slower, while above 1 means it's going faster.
