Using the built-in budgeting and client management features, Forecast automatically presents you with a presentable budget that you can choose to keep internally, or share with your client, depending on your processes. The budget is based on the actual time and the estimations added to each card, and surfaces the minimum, maximum and the forecast predicted by our artificial intelligence. Costs are calculated from the rate card chosen in the 'Rate card'-tab.
The budget is updated in real-time as changes are made across the project. The current 'Spend'-value is updated whenever new time is reported. Thus it gives you a great view of the immediate available budget.
Add clients and assign client to a project
Navigate to the 'Admin'-settings by clicking your name in the upper right-hand corner. Go to 'Clients' in the left-hand menu. Here you'll be able to see a full list of all clients across your organization. Add new clients by typing a name and clicking 'Add client'.
When you've added your clients - go back to the project, and assign a client to your project. This is done through 'Client' in the left-hand menu, and simply by choosing the client in the dropdown. You will immediately see the details of that specific client, and it will already be assigned to the project. At any time you can switch the client in the upper right-hand side of the window.
Setup rate cards and choose for a project
The budget of the project is calculated based on the rate card chosen for that particular project. Rate cards are setup through the 'Admin'-settings, found by clicking your name in the upper right-hand corner, and through the 'Rate cards'-tab in the left-hand menu. Here you'll be able to see all rate cards across the organization, and add new ones through the dialog.
After adding the rate cards you need - go back to your project, and choose a rate card through the 'Rate card'-tab in the left-hand menu. Choose the appropriate rate card, and it will show up and adjust the budget immediately. You can always switch the rate card in the upper right-hand corner of the window, if you would need to do that later on.
